Mieke Schulte
I am an assistant professor of clinical psychology in the Department of Psychiatry, Education and Child Studies (DPECS) of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. I have a background in cognitive neuroscience. During my PhD, I investigated the effect of working memory training and N-acetylcysteine on cigarette smoking or cocaine use, cognitive functions and several neurobiological correlates, such as brain activity and neurotransmitters. After completing my PhD in 2018, I switched to the field of e-mental health during my postdoc. I started as a program director for the Health & Well-being program line within the digital society project. Afterwards I have been involved in the development and testing of digital interventions for depression and substance use disorders. Currently, in my position as an assistant professor, I am again investigating neurocognitive correlates of substance use disorders and how these can be used to develop innovative treatment strategies.
